The BUPA Great Edinburgh Cross Country Festival took place today in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh. The racing got underway at 10am with a series of junior and inter-district events, followed by the BUPA Great Winter Run and international events including the Celtic Nations Competition. European junior cross country champion Emelia Gorecka (14:48) gave a gritty display of cross country running to win the junior women’s event with some ease after an early surge by USA’s Finn. Dundee Hawkill’s Laura Muir finished 10th (15:40) and was 3rd team counter behind Gorecka and GB debutant Lake. A number of other club athletes ran well in their various events. All deserve congratulations.
Blue Boys: Ross Anderson (9.47) Red Boys: Callum Letham (9.21) closely followed by Jack Anderson (9.22)
Blue Girls: Emily Paul (11:32) Red Girls: Danielle MacDermid (10:10)
Bupa Great Winter Run: Ken Latham (26:30), Lucy Fyffe (26:37).
