Jamie Crowe had a fine 3rd place at Kinnoull behind Hector Haines {HBT} & Mike Carroll {PRR}.
The Kinnoull race [6.4k & 240m climb] was the fourth counter in the Hawks' Hill Champs Series. Craig Love, Des Crowe & Johnny McBain were all well up the field.
Well done also to Catherine Matthews, Steve Cromar & Alan Kennedy who also ran. see also

Loch Leven Half Marathon

Craig Ross was 20th at the Loch Leven Half Marathon. He finished in 1:25:47. He was 2nd V50. Colin McNally finished just behind him in 1:26:00 for 6th V40. Jozsef Farkas running unattached won the event in 1:11 and Edinburgh A.C's Jennifer Maclean won the ladies race in 1:19 from Claire McArthur of Shettleston, who was second. There were 530 finishers.

Monikie 10K

Gordon Barrie improved one place on his 2012 run here to win. Steve Borland was first MV50. Colin McNally [fresh from Loch Leven HM] was third MV40 & Catherine Matthews took 2nd FVet. Johnny McBain 7th & Phil Forte 23rd ran too. Regular Camperdown Parkrun winner, Craig Love was well up the field but not shown in the results yet. With his Dad's Stuc a Chroin finish also not shown, the Loves must be feeling a bit miffed! Colin Brown benefitting from regular Tuesday night training was 14th/3rd MV50: 241 finished.

Glas Tulaichean Uphill Race

Yesterday saw the first of the club's two organised hill races - Glas Tulaichean uphill-only race. This year's race was moved from it's traditional date in June to accommodate the trials for the UK Home internationals to be held in Keswick on 25th may. because of that, we had lots of top quality athletes taking part this year and 51 runners in total. Weather conditions were testing to say the least but everyone got to the top and back down again safely. Stuc a' Chroin winner Hector Haines had to watch Robbie Simpson take off from the start and keep his lead all the way to the top. Ladie's Stuc winner Charlotte Morgan came second to Dumyat winner Helen Still of HBT.

Lots of Hawks turned out for the race with Jamie Crowe leading the charge. With the race almost completely on a well defined track even Alan Kennedy didn't get lostLaughing

Unfortunately, the landowner Simon Winton took ill overnight and could not run this year, but my thanks go out to him and Richard who drove all the warm clothing to the summit.

The legendary Bobby Quinn who still holds the record for this race (33:50) from 1997 turned up and ran an incredible 39 :54 at the age of 47.

My thanks also to Nigel Reynolds and Shaun Germany who braved the freezing conditions at the summit to record all the times - Cheers guys!
